A: A SIM card with an active data plan from a GPRS network.
A: Our watch can log onto the Global Positioning System for free, but in order to send this information to the parent's cell phone, data usage is required.
A: Battery life is dependent on usage, but rest assured that even with heavy usage, our battery will last the entire day. And while its very possible that our battery could last 2-3 days, we strongly recommend charging it nightly, just to make sure.
A: Yes. Our Lil tracker devices operate independently from the parent's phone. (Think of them as being cell phones themselves. So the parents can have their personal devices with any network (Bell, Telus, SaskTel, etc.) Our watch does however, require a SIM card from a GPRS network (such as Lil Tracker Mobile, Rogers Wireless, Fido, and a few others)
A: No. And same with a Windows phone. At the moment our app is supported by the Android and iOS operating systems.
A: No, a voice plan is not required. In fact most data only plans will also let you make voice calls as a pay per use feature.
A: Yes, but arrangements should be made in advance. We're an e-commerce store and we have separate shipping and office facilities. If you want to pick up your order, send us a note and will have our shipping department send it over to our office location for you.
A: When Lil tracker is used daily, our users average 20-30 MBs of data per month. This includes data for locating your child's position, and data for sending 'voice chats' back and forth with the watch. (Voice chats are up to 15 second long recorded voice messages that are charged as data (instead of as a voice call) and can be sent back and forth with the Lil Tracker
A: You can program up to 15 names and numbers in the watch's phonebook. Your child simply swipes the touchscreen and taps on the desired contact to place a call.
A: As our GPS watches work on a mobile network, there is no range. As long as your watch is connected to the cell phone network, you can interact with it: across the street or halfway across the world!
A: Our GPS watch can work in countries all over the world, but please be advised if you leave your home country, there will be roaming charges. It works just like your mobile phone.
A: No. The WiFi bars you see on the face of the watch are to help find your child's position in cases where the GPS network is unavailable. We call this WiFi positioning. The watch does not use WiFi to replace network data usage.
